This is the person you talk to first. Every project starts as a problem to solve, not a blank page — what the business needs to signal, who it’s actually talking to, what “done well” looks like. From that first conversation through the final sign-off, this is the same person shaping the direction, the layout, the type, the system that has to hold together everywhere it’s used.
Owns the reality: architecture, code, and what a browser actually does
This is the person who turns a right design into a fast, working site or product — not an approximation of the mockup, the mockup itself, shipped. Performance, accessibility, and mobile-first aren’t handed off to be “implemented later”; they’re built in from the first commit, by the same person who’ll still be the one you call after launch.
Two disciplines, one practice. There’s no handoff between the two of us to lose something in — because there’s no separate team for a file to go to.
